And winning this title is just reassurance that I followed the right path. Drag has been my life, it’s been my saving grace, it’s given me a place to express myself. “Live life in your truth, and love always wins,” she said, holding her new scepter. Once they’d finished their performance and made their cases to RuPaul regarding why they should win, the top four competed in a final one-at-a-time lip-sync to Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love.”ĭuring her original season, Love (who then appeared mononymously as Sonique) was the fourth queen sent home, when she lip-synced against Morgan McMichaels to Stacey Q’s “Two of Hearts.” Throughout All Stars 6 , Love proved her own “rudemption” time and time again, placing high or safe most weeks, while winning episode 6’s acting challenge inspired by American Horror Story: Coven. Love was also commended by the judges throughout the competition for consistently proving that she was more than a look queen - she showed that she could do comedy, music, dance, acting, and much more.Īfter being announced as the winner, Love hugged her competitors and thanked everyone who supported her career up until this moment. In the finale episode, Love, alongside her fellow top four competitors Eureka, Ginger Minj and Ra’Jah O’Hara, were tasked with writing, dancing and singing in a performance of RuPaul’s brand new country song, “This Is Our Country,” featuring none other than country legend Tanya Tucker. We should prepare ourselves for a Eureka return really soon. How the Songwriters of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Turn TV Challenges Into 'A Voltron of Pop Excellence' Though, if I had to make a choice, Eureka most likely won the lip-sync. We'll have to wait until RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 6 Episode 11 to see who wins the battle. She got too invested with the props and tricks, so much so that the last one hindered her the most. In a dynamic, surprising moment, Kylie trips over her coat during the performancebut then successfully pivots it into a somersault. But come the final lip sync, to Lady Gaga’s Stupid Love, there’s a clear winner. Plus, the outfit being stuck on Silky's leg hurt the power of the reveal. The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6, Kylie Sonique Love. So what if another girl is coming back? Bitch, I’ve made it this far. The problem, however, was that Eureka came out of the gate strong and carried it throughout the entire performance Silky started slow and took too long to rise. Silky tried to go conceptual with a story and an inflatable suit. She had emotion, moves and channeled the song's vibe to make it a tough battle for Silky to fight. (Curse you, cliffhangers!)Įureka! owned every second of the lip-sync. The final battle of "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson might be where Silky lost the smackdown. And, each queen should be aware of the twist as to use it in their campaigning not to be thrown into the smackdown. Next time, the twist should return somewhere at Final 6 or Final 7. There are only 2-3 episodes left before the finale, so if an earlier queen returned, they wouldn't have a fair chance to win. My only concern with this twist was that we had to until RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 6 Episode 10. Just keep winning and redemption will be yours. The early boots needed to survive the rounds too. It wouldn't be fair to a queen like Pandora Boxx or Eureka! who made it halfway through the competition to face off against a queen like Serena ChaCha in the first round of a bracket. This tower model is better for this rudemption than the bracket-style in the Lip-Sync For The Crown. Each queen had to work their way up and put in the effort to make it past the next round. Doing a sudden-death elimination order based on the most recent eliminated queen provided a fair and even set-up.
